About Me

My name is David Clark, I am a trauma-informed breathwork facilitator.

Before this current stage in my life, I was a computer programmer for over 30 years, mostly working in the city.

In my old life I actively suppressed my emotions. I was afraid that if I allowed any of my feelings out then I would be overcome with emotion and it would never stop. As I continued suppressing my feelings, my life became only shades of grey, no sadness, but also no laughter.

This gradually led to a long term functional depression, still telling no one about my internal state. I tried to lose myself in work and would actively avoid any situation that might bring up emotions in me or anyone else. Eventually everything came to a head at the start of 2020, showing up in my health and relationship issues. I finally started on the path to recovering my ability to feel.

I tried many different things during this time. When I did let myself feel some of my feelings I found that I could still function afterwards, and I felt a big sense of relief.

After I discovered Conscious Connected Breathwork I found I could consistently release emotions and I felt lighter after each session. People began to comment on how much happier and more open I seemed.

I noticed that I was laughing freely again and people loved to laugh with me, they were comfortable to be around me. I could allow myself to feel and properly be there for friends and family. Colour returned to my life.

Over the years I have tried many different practices to help me, all of these have made a difference at the time. These included:

  • Tai Chi/Chi Gung
    (daily for over 20 years)
  • Men’s groups (5 years) *
  • Talk therapy
  • Meditation (4 years)
  • Energy healing
  • Touch workshops
  • Yoga
  • Abstract Painting

Each of these brought me many benefits and a lot of internal understanding, but it often felt like I was using techniques to manage my emotional state rather than to expand my capacity for life.

Conscious Connected Breathwork was the reliable, reproducible practice I had been looking for, to move from managing my emotional state to releasing the years of stored emotions by working directly with my nervous system.

* I’m also a trained men’s group facilitator and still very active in men’s groups. I’ve also helped train others to be facilitators which is very rewarding. I highly recommend menspeak.co.uk menspeak logo to any men who are looking for deep connection. They provide groups both online and in-person.

When I found Conscious Connected Breathwork it was the first practice that really allowed me to safely get in touch with my deep feelings and hidden self beliefs. It allowed me to feel and release the emotions I had been holding back for many years, allowing me to rapidly feel lighter.

I quickly started to see change in myself, how I related to my family, others, and even with myself, and I felt this breathwork was something I simply had to share with others.
